Would you get a bikini wax for the doctor?

  1. I've heard of this and won't be doing it, um a trim will do just fine.

  2. I am kinda shocked by some of the attitudes shown here, like nobody should be a hairy mess for anyone. I just don't get it. Why is pubic hair so disgusting? It's natural like the hair on your head. I do shave about once a month but not because it's gross. I just like it better because I feel more sensitive for sex. I never do it before a doctor's appointment though. Having hair makes me feel a little less naked!

  3. I shaved it all off once... long before I ever even thought about needing an RE. I have to say that, in addition to the itchiness of regrowth, I found it kind of pervy. I mean, pubic hair is a sign of sexual maturity - why would I want to take that away? JMHO.

  4. I'm a trimmer, a clipper and a shaver. I must admit that I do try and touch up before an appt- terrified of waxing

  5. I've done the full and landing strip styles for myself - I like things neat and clean, I am very type A, lol. My husband thought I was nuts when I woke up an hour earlier the necessary last week before having our first egg retrieval so I could shave my legs and down there well. But I do it for every single day I need to have the internal ultra sound. I doubt the doctor cares or judges but, oh well, it is in my head as being necessary.

  6. FWIW, I'm a doctor and I can tell you that doctors DO NOT CARE. If you shave/wax/whatever, don't do it "for the doctor"!

  7. I'm a midwife and I can tell you that it makes absolutely NO difference to me whatsoever. I have, though, had patients apologize that they were "shaggy" because they didn't think they were going into labor.
