what to get Boyfriend for b-day

  1. Ok, this man does EVERYTHING for us in his power. He's paid to have my yard landscaped and mowed through the summer, pays our YMCA, takes us all on trips.

He turns 48 on June 11th. I have NO IDEA what to get for him. He threw me a huge b-day bash with crystal, flowers all over the house, photos of us and a diamond necklace.

I can't compete money wise so anyone have a good idea?

I want something with our motto when we argue with biz - F-it, take a left. It gets us out of many a heated debate.

He loves golf but has enough golf cr at p to last forever. I'm clean out of ideas.

  2. Instead of stuff, how about doing something together? Like going to the theater, or a museum and lunch, or hiking and dinner, whatever activities he likes but doesn't typically get around to....

Glad you guys are doing well together and that you are happy!

Yeah, he already booked a long weekend on Cozumel (my favorite spot)......

    Keep thinking!!!

  4. It doesn't sound like you will be able to compete financially so I recommend doing something symbolic.

What about finding a model/scupture of a left hand (or even seeing if you can get a mold of your left hand made) and putting a card with a long, heart-felt letter talking about how much you appreciate having him in your life in the model's grasp?

Great idea - except I'll have F-it, take a left put in there........ And, we love you!

I'm glad you like my idea. In the interest of having something he can leave out when his mother or business colleagues visits, you might want to limit the text to just "Take a Left". He can fill in the rest himself.

  7. I'll give you the stereotypical answer: steak and a BJ!!!

  8. A T-shirt or sweat shirt with your motto printed on it.

Or a mug or plate again with your motto painted / printed on it.

  9. I'll give you the stereotypical answer: steak and a BJ!!!

LOL - I'll have to remember that for Father's Day!

Would he be into taking a wine or cooking class together?

can never go wrong with food & a bj

    A surprise morning BJ....

Maybe offer to go golfing with him?

I bet he'd LOVE something hand-made by you & the kids (even if it's just a card or similar, it seems like from your posts he would like it)

A watch (not necessarily an expensive one) engraved with something nice/sentimental

Or a nice pen set for work with the motto engraved on it?

Something commemorating his Supreme Court win? (like a plaque/photo or framed document w/engraving of the date/case or something- not sure what to suggest here because I'm not an attny but I know you said he was pretty proud of the win so maybe he would like something to "show it off"??)

    Let me think some more....

    Take Care~

I'm certain he'll get a steak and a BJ......... He takes that in stride.

The Supreme Court win is a big deal to him so that's another great idea. Of course, I'll have to have a "F-it, take a left" at the bottom of the frame.

BTW - F-it, take a left came from his car navigation. We were trying to find a party and totally quiet in the car as we were tired. The navigation system pronounced some street like sheezabelithallllahbah and I asked "what did she (the navigation) just say? And his response was, I don't effing know, she should have just said "F-It, take a left", thus our motto.

Then we went to Maui with the major road being Punanny Blvd - F-it, just take a left....
