United Health Care Plan DE costs?

  1. Does anyone have the United Health care plan, the one that covers NYS employees and has a 50k cap? Does anyone know what out of pocket costs are for DE?

    Thank you.

  2. Hi -
Costs are going to depend if you want to do a shared cycle or non-shared cycle. At Cornell, for a shared cycle the costs (without extras) is appx $18,000. I believe non-shared is around $31,000.

For me, my insurance will not cover any part of the DE process but I'm sure all insurances are different.

  3. I am going to Cornell. I am going to do a shared cycle. I was quoted about $17K. However I am fortunate enough to have medical insurance that covers just about everything when you cycle there as a patient.

My problem is that I can't quite find out what this specific insurance covers via DE and does not cover.

I was told (far too many years ago) that they cover all but the DE's compensation. I am wondering if they cover ICSI for DH and some of the medication costs.

    Thank you!

  4. I can only share my experience. I have United as well, but as you know different companies subscribe to different plans under each insurance company. I had everything covered on an IVF cycle, but nothing on DE. Sounds like your is much better than mine. GL!

  5. ICSI is inlcuded in the 18K cost of a shared cycle at Cornell. They automatically do ICSI for shared cycles to determine if the egg is mature. GL
