  1. Hi all Im 10 weeks preggo with twins!! Due in Feb 2009 Just trying to find some twin friends

  2. Hi, Kelly. I am 11 weeks pregnant with twins!!! So, how are you feeling? I am vomitting a lot. The doctor gave me Zofran and it worked at first but now it's not helping. Needless to say, I am horribly nauseous, dizzy, exhausted, and achy. Kind of like having the flu! Besides feeling lousy, I am very excited to be having two babies!! We conceived them through our second IUI. How about you? Any symptoms? My doctor told me that my symptoms are so bad due to having a twin pregnancy.

  3. Hi Ladies, I am also having twins due in February, I will be 10 weeks this Tuesday. I have been feeling surprisingly well! I get bouts of nausea every day but I am not throwing up. I hope it stays this way. I have had some bleeding which has been very nerve wrecking but the babies are fine and my ob ensures me that bleeding is common with multiples.

Kim - I hope you start feeling better soon!

  4. Hi, Sara! So glad to meet some other multiple mommies! I had some mild bleeding too and my doctor said the same thing. Unfortunately, I got very sick last night about 4 times. I'm coming into the time of day now where I start getting really sick so that is no fun at all! I'm hoping that it will start to subside in the next few weeks. I am a teacher so I have the summer off...thank God! I'm just hoping to feel better once I go back to school!

  5. Hi all,
I am 13.5 weeks preggo with twins...40 week due date is Feb., they'll probably arrive in mid to late Jan. We conceived with our first IVF cycle. I was not sick throughout my entire first trimester - then - - BAM - yesterday morning I threw up 4 times! I was sick as a dog. Today was a little better. We'll see if it was a fluke or will be staying with me.

I'm starting to settle down and not be so nervous about, that I'm heading to 2nd trimester without any problems. We actually got our first pieces of furniture this weekend. A borrowed crib from friends and a matching one from Craig's list. Wow - I don't know how we'll fit everything in one room!

Nice to meet you all. Look forward to sharing stories!

Have any of you gained weight? Up until last week, I hadn't. In fact, I'd lost a few pounds. But, suddenly I've popped. I think I've gained 2 lbs just this week.

  6. Hi ladies,
Nice to see a Feb thread for us twin mommies to be. We conceived our 2 little beanies with our first round of IVF. We feel very lucky and blessed. My due date is Feb 14th, but I'm sure they will arrive anytime in the second half of January.

So far so good, I haven't vomited at all but did had waves of nausea most days from 7-10 weeks. I am getting my appetite back and so far I have gained 5 lbs. Chronic exhaustion however has kicked my butt!! Just now beginning to have more energy etc. My thyroid bloodwork just came back as underactive so I need to retest this week. This could also explain the sheer exhaustion.

Hoping to get to know all of you ladies in the coming months sharing stories and pregnancy ailments. It is comforting to know that I will be sharing this long road ahead with other twin mommies.

    11.3 weeks

  7. Well I concieved these guys with our 2nd attempt at IVF/ICSI!! Were very excited, although I think if I havent yet I will throw these babies up!! Im extremely sick not every day but most days!! or at least I feel like Im going to be sick all the time!! Im just hoping this part goes away soon, I am excited but its hard when you feel pretty crappy!!!!

  8. Oh - I'm so sorry you're so sick! That is crummy. Just one day of it, and I wanted to die! I hope it gets better soon.

  9. I have been sick all day today. Anyone else's back killing them? Sometimes I get out of bed and I can barely move because my back hurts so much. I went to Target today and bought a Boppy pregnancy pillow. They're about $55 and I'm hoping it'll be worth it. I hit 12 weeks yesterday so I'm hoping that I feel better soon! Anyone else incredibly exhausted? I can barely keep going. Thank God I'm a teacher and I've had the summer off! All I do is sleep!

  10. desperately - I am so sorry that you are feeling so sick and are having a lot of pain. I think you should start feeling better know that you are 12 weeks. Which I am so jealous of!!! Let us know how the boppy pillow is, I never saw those at target, which section did you find it in?

Kelly- Hope you feel better soon too!

Tracy- I hear you on being sooo tired! I hope you thyroid turns out to be okay.

I had another us today and I saw the babies moving!! It was really exciting. So a few questions for you ladies: when did you tell people you were preg. with twins? I forgot to ask my dr this today but I read that we should be sleeping on our left side, have you heard this and/or follow this?

    Thanks - Sara
    10.1 wks.

  11. Sara-I got the pillow in the baby section with the Boppy pillows for babies. So far I like it but I haven't used it for sleep yet so we'll see. It does give me extra support when I'm sitting up.

I told people when I was 4 weeks! I know, bad, but I couldn't help myself. I found out it was twins at 7 weeks and that's when I told people that. The fact that I am only 12 weeks pregnant is so weird to me because I feel like I've been pregant forever since I told people so early. My theory was that if something horrible happened, people would know. I'm not good at hiding my feelings! Also, a lot of people knew I was going through fertility.

I've heard about sleeping on your left side but my OB said not to be too concerned with it and that my body would tell me which way to sleep. I think they're more relaxed about that now. I would ask your OB, though, since I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV!

  12. Sara- You can also buy the boppy pillow at Babiesrus. I have one myself but don't want to use it until I get really uncomfortable in bed. I think we are suppose to sleep on our left side when we are approx 16 weeks pregnant.

Kelly- I'm sure you'll start to feel better soon. Did you get any nausea meds (ie.. Reglan, Zofran of Phenergan) from your doctor. Just a quick phone call and they could call it in to your pharmacy without you having to even visit the Dr.

I also told people early on when we got pregnant. Yes it does feel like I have been preggo for a long time!! We find out soo early when doing IVF, which is nice. I am am also getting withdrawl symptoms from not having a sono or seeing the babes in over 2 weeks!! I have to wait until Aug 8th which is when I have an appointment with OB/GYN as well as the Perinatologist. The Peri I heard has the best sono machines available. Tomorrow I visit the Dr's office but just for repeat B/W for thyroid.

Are most of you also going to see a Peri?

  13. Tracy- I will be seeing a peri as well as my ob, I believe after 12 weeks. I also heard that they have really advanced ultrasound machines which should be really cool to see.

Desperately - I am also a teacher, and so happy that I have the summer off. It was perfect timing to be home for the 1st trimester. When do you think you will work till?

I have my Nuchal fold screening in two weeks, which I am nervous about. Did you all already have yours? What have you heard about it?

  14. I also told people very early on - as soon as we were told by the RE. Everyone knew we were going through IVF, so there wasn't much hiding anything. It's been nice to have the support. And the understanding from everyone of how TIRED I've been. It looks like I'm a little further along than several of you. So, I'm happy to report that the extreme exhaustion does seem to be wearing off (a little)! I work full-time, and I completely understand where you're at. I honestly could have fallen asleep at my desk by 3pm every day from weeks 8 through 12. Then, I'd take a long nap as soon as I got home, get up to make dinner, eat, not clean - hubby had to do that, and go to bed by 8:30pm. I'd sleep 10 hours a night! Oh, my! But, I'm beginning to rejoin the world of the living.

Tracy - I am also seeing a Peri. So far, so good.

So far, I haven't changed my sleeping habits. My back IS killing me, so thanks for the boppy tip. The little side effect that's most annoying to me right now is how frequently I have to go to the bathroom...I wonder if they'd just give me a catheter!?!

    13wks, 3 days

  15. Sara-I'm going to try to work as long as I can. A lot of people think my doctor will sign me out after Christmas break but we'll see. I'm a reading teacher so I don't have to be on my feet all day. I can actually sit a lot doing reading groups or doing a read aloud to the whole class. That will make it a bit easier for me.

I had the Nuchal last week and it's nothing more than an U/S and a couple of blood tests. I think-but I'm not sure-that you want the babies' necks to be under 3mm. Mine were both 1 and she said that was perfect. I'm not sure, though, so ask the technician.

As for the Boppy pillow-I am happy to report that my back feels so much better this morning!!!! I think this helped take some of the pressure off it. I highly recommend it!

    BTW-What is a perinatologist?

  16. Kim,
I found this definition online: A doctor specializing in treating the fetus/baby and mother during pregnancy, labor, and delivery, particularly when the mother and/or baby are at a high risk for complications.

All the drs in the practice I'm going to are specialists in high-risk and multiple pregnancy and delivery.

  17. Thanks, Amy! Now I understand!
BTW, do any of you feel completely out of breath after climbing stairs. My washer and dryer are in the basement and today I was down there. When I walked back up, it was like I had done aerobics for 30 minutes!!!

  18. I can get breathless - at times - just getting up from the couch. I've read that this is from the ribcage expanding and uterus putting pressure on the other organs.

  19. Hi. I am just joining in over here as I found out today at 10w6d that we are having TWINS. I went for my NT Scan and once the tech started she said your having twins? She was confused because the paperwork she was given said we were having one. Of course we told her we were told 1.
    Baby A 11w0d and Baby B 10w5d and hb of 167 & 179.

  20. Linda - congrats! What a surprise! I imagine you are terribly exhausted, as I was at 10 weeks. Also, mine measure several days apart, too. That makes sense...The two blasts that were transferred during my IVF cycle were not even close in size. We're trying to refrain from calling baby B \"the slow one\"...a joke, of course.

  21. Actually the fatigue was a lot worse in the beginning. For about the past week it hasn't been too bad. I am also easily winded though. Going up and down the stairs kicks my butt especially since I also do laundry in the basement but mainly live on the 2nd floor.

  22. Hi ladies ... I'd love to join your group. I am 13w1d with twins from my 4th IVF cycle. The 40 weeks due date is February 6th but of course they should come early. I have been sick but not consistenly. I am having trouble sleeping so maybe I will try the bobby pillow. It's so nice to be able to go on this journey with others. I hope you are all well and I look forward to sharing our stories.

  23. Hi, Ladies! I posted this on the February 2009 board but I just want to cover my bases. Have any of you had anxiety? I have been having very bad anxiety lately and really don't have any reason as to why this is happening. I have been very sick and even had to go to the ER for IV fluids this past Friday so I don't know if that is what is causing this. I did have about 6 months of horrible panic attacks about a year before I became pregnant but I thought it was behind me. My OB's office offers counseling so I'm going to take them up on it. I'm hoping that it will help me relax. If anyone has any advice or experience with this please let me know! I feel like a freak!

  24. Desperately - I am so sorry that you are having so much anxiety. I have a lot of anxiety over wondering if the babies are okay. It keeps me up at night and prevents me from doing things throughout the day because I am so nervous that something is wrong. Are you having anxiety over a particular thing? That is great that your ob offers counseling and hopefully that will help you feel better. I just wait for each us to feel better and hopefully next week when I am 12 weeks I will be a little less nervous .

morrirobert43 - Welcome! That must have been such a shock to find out about the twins like that!!

desi - Welcome! I am also having trouble sleeping, I cant figure out which position is best and I am worried that I am hurting the babies. Let us know if the boppy pillow works. My sister gave me a body pillow but it is huge and takes up half the bed, so I think I am going to get a boppy too.

I have an ob appt. tomorrow, I hope they let me see the babies again!!

  25. Linda... Congrats on your twin surprise, how wonderful.

Desi... Welcome to our group, look forward to sharing stories with you also.

Kim.. I do hope your anxiety subsides, counseling should help you.

The boppy pillow is wonderful, it gives you all the support you need in all the right places. I do find however that my sleeping pattern is erratic. I turn alot in bed from side to side and just don't sleep like I used to before preg. Can't imagine how I'll feel when I'm 25 + weeks trying to
