  1. Hello! New here. Also new to IVF. 7 yrs ttc#1. 1 m/c, PCOS, fibroids, some slight MF issues (morphology mainly)... 34 yrs old, will turn 35 around ER time...I can't believe it's taken this long to get to IVF. Has some other health issues that disrupted ttc (Rheumatoid Arthritis diagnosed in 2007.) That's about it...

Anyone else cycling during this time frame? I am on BCPs now, will start Lupron on 11/17. Will be on Lupron for 12 days and then start Follistim (hopefully!) around 10/29.

    Thx! Brooke

  2. Hello, I am not sure when I will be cycling my first dr apt for another cycle is Oct 21st so I am sure that I will around Dec or Jan. This will be my second try at IVF. We did conceive but ended in m/c at 8wk5d.Sorry if TMI.. I am 35 and DH 52 so the only issues we have are MF. DH has low mobility and abnormal forming sperm. RE stated that we do have enough good sperm that it should not be a problem. I wish you the best on your journey. Good luck with the shots...that's the worst part about the whole thing...Yuck...I am a big chicken when it comes to needles and I did good.

  3. Thanks, to both of you! And good luck...

Kaycee - I am taking a multi-vitamin, an extra folic acid pill, CoQ10, metformin, baby aspirin, and Loestrin bcps...I think that's it for right now. 25 days of bcps for me. I didn't have any cysts at baseline u/s, but my antral follicle count is 70+...it's crazy high. Freak of nature high, I think? Hope I stim ok...we'll see...

    Brooke

  4. Hi Brooke.

I am cycling around the same time as you I start lupron around 10/22 I have been on bcp for almost 3 months. My estimated retrieval is around 11/12-11/14. This is our fourth cycle. I am PCOS and my dh has low count. I have twins girls from ivf #2. Ivf #3 was cancelled at transfer due to poor pgd report and ivf#1 wasnt a success I switched RE's after this cycle he didnt know what was going on with me. Anyhow we are hoping this is last successful cycle. Any questions ask away the first cycle can be intimidating but just take it easy and think positive. Are you taking any vitamins?

    Kaycee

  5. Hi Ladies -

Is there room for one more? My tentative ER date is 11/10/09. Our dates are so close together!

Brooke - I've never heard of an antral follicle count that high! Wow? Good luck. I hope this is your first & only cycle.

Beverly - I'm so sorry to hear about your m/c. It's good to know your RE thinks your DH has enough good sperm for this cycle. Wishing you a successful cycle.

Kaycee - I'm sorry to see you back here. I was on the July cycling threads -- just a few weeks before your cycle. I hope this will be your very last cycle!

    (warning: success mentioned below)
AFM - This will be my 3rd cycle. My first was 3 years ago, resulting in DS. We cycled again in July, but I got a BFN (I was 40 then... 41 now!). According to the embryologist, we had 100% fertilization of all 5 eggs, and 2 of my embies were the \"best you could hope for on cd3\" - compacting 8 cell. We put back all 5. At my WTF appt, RE told me that my E2 was only 740 before ER. Wow, that's a huge change from my 1st cycle, where my E2 was over 3500.

So this cycle, I'm getting acupuncture 2x/wk to help blood flow to my ovaries. (My right ovary didn't produce any eggs last time.) My RE will be pumping me up with massive amounts of stims this time around. I am really nervous about that!

Does anybody else know their protocol?

Thanks for listening. Looking forward to cycling with you all!
    Ziggy

  6. Hello Ladies! Well I am stressing out as usually! LOL.. I wish that my apt was today instead of Oct 21st! The wait is about the drive me crazy. Okay! I am over it! Now, I am taking Folic Acid, baby aspirin and Pretenal Vit. I wish so bad that we had a accupuncturist here in MS but we do not. Why does he or she have you taking royal jelly herb and L-Arganine? What doses are you taking as well? Sorry so many questions! I want my body to be health and ready to be pg. My protocol is the same Lupron and follistim....But is almost OHSS on follistim last time so my RE stoppped follistim on the third day...My DH wants me to try accpuncturist in AL but that is about a three hour drive for me.. Happy thoughts!!!

  7. Hi ladies how you doing?

YEAOur little group is growing. Ziggy I'm sorry I dont quite remember you from July board that was a horrible time for me I hated that cycle I shouldve cancelled my gut told me to but things happen for a reason it was a lesson learned. I left that RE immediately. I am back with the RE who gave me my bfp with my twins. I feel this cycle is going to be the winner I am taking the vitamins I took when I got a bfp with my twin dd, and I am in better hands. I am doing accupuncture once a week pre stimming and then 2x a week once I start stimming. Most importantly taking it easy not stressing to much.

My protocol is lupron for a couple of weeks, then follistim it is a much easier protocol than my last cycle. I am transfering 2 embryos and I just cant wait to get pregnant.

Beverly and Ziggy what vitamins are you ladies taking? I am taking prenatal, L Arganine, royal jelly herb from accupuncturist, fish oil. I am wishing the best for all of us. Maybe we can do a chart soon I think we are all alot closer in timing than we think.

    Kaycee

  8. Ack! You are all taking so many supplements! I feel bad.... I ran out of prenatal vitimins (Prenate? -- $40 with insurance) last month and haven't refilled yet. I think I'm going to have my OB prescribe something cheaper.

I start Lupron on Oct. 19. I think I start baby aspirin & Medrol around then, or maybe when stims begin. I have to check my calendar. My first 2 days of stims will be 4 Menopur (yikes?) and 450 Gonal-f. The dosages go down after the first 2 days, but this is double the stims I took last cycle. I'm having reservations about it!

Are you all on BCPs? I convinced my RE to let me skip them this time. I think I was over-suppressed last cycle - my AF was over a week late, which meant an extra week of Lupron shots.

Beverly - I'm sorry you don't have an acupuncturist close to you. I honestly don't know whether mine is doing any good! I guess we'll soon find out. Have you tried fertility yoga? Maybe you could order a DVD and try that at home instead of driving 3 hours (UGH!). Couldn't hurt?

Kaycee - Glad you are back with your RE who makes you feel comfortable. Why did you leave him in the first place?

Brooke - Hope all is well!

    GL to all,
    z

  9. Hello! Nothing exciting going on here, I just keep taking the birth control pills, baby aspirin, and metformin each day...I've got about 11 days until I start Lupron on the 17th! My husband is going to be out of town during the beginning of the Lupron shots, so I will have to do it myself. I've got my shot class on the 14th, so I hope I will be able to remember how to do it by the 17th. I think I will be able to manage it pretty well...

and Ziggy - when the RE saw my ovaries on my baseline u/s he said things like 'wow' and 'that's a lot of antral follicles' etc... I think he was stunned, and not really in a good way...I know they will have to watch my stims carefully...

Oh, and I have been drinking Raspberry Leaf tea which I have leftover from previous ttc days, and an Odwalla green drink that has juice and Wheat Grass in it...

    That\'s it for now...Brooke

  10. OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I found an accupuncturist in Mississippi. I can not believe it. I am so excited! I have an apt tomorrow at 1:00. I can't wait! I have heard alot of good things about accupunture helping. WOOO...

I am not on BCP yet but sure I will be soon. I have my apt Oct 21st so I am a little behind schedule. I hope time goes by fast for us all. Girl, go get those vitamins! I have waited a while to try another cycle so that my body could heal from my last cycle in March.

I don't know why I am excited about tiny little needles sticking all over my body tomorrow...LOL BEV

  11. Hi all,

Bev-So glad you found an accupuncturist they are great and help your body so much during your cycle. I am taking i vial of royal jelly per day the LArganine was something I read about that helps with I think over all circulation I read about so much I think thats right though. I am on bcp as well but not for long since time is flying by. You wont really feel the needles I love accupuncture so much been doing it for years now with all my cycles. Take it easy your time is coming good things come to those who wait!

Ziggy- I left because our insurance changed and they didnt want to work with us. But we have a new plan now and they accept it so I am back now!

Dont worry so much about what others are taking what works for one may not work for you so just hang in there try to stay positive and patient even though its a challenge and enjoy getting pregnant.

    Kaycee

  12. Hello Ladies,

Long time since I been posting, am about to start another cycle so I figured I'd come back now.... at least I think I'm ready.

So here we go.... I was forced to get another Dr. (mine is not practicing anymore)
    Consultation and b/w was 10/1/09
CD3 was today- U/S was good...this time (as you all know how things can be good 1 min. and bad the next)
    Start BCP tonight between 7-9pm
Brief Consultation next Friday 10/16/09 w/ Dr. to see when I can start meds or if I even can start.

I am going to be on 2nd cylce which will be FET

    We shall see,
    TTYL

  13. Hi Ladies,

Excited - Nice to see you here. I'm sorry your RE is out of practice (I wonder why??), that's a setback you didn't need... Hopefully you won't have any more delays and those beautiful frozen embies will latch on nicely. Have you been doing anything in between cycles such as acupuncture or supplements?

Kaycee - You are so lucky to have insurance. Mine partially covered my last 2 cycles, but I'm past my lifetime max, so it's all out of pocket for us.

Brooke - I also do all of my own shots. I cannot rely on DP to be there for me at an exact time every day, and he makes comments I don't need to hear (THAT'S THE NEEDLE??? THE WHOLE THING??? etc.). It's best to not think about it - just fill, swab, jab, squeeze, pull, swab, rub, and discard. Hm. I wonder what other types of manuals I can use this detailed procedure in?

Beverly - Congrats on finding an acupuncturist! How was your appt today??

Thanks ladies, for making me get off my *** and refill my prenatals prescription. I got a gift cert from CVS to xfer my prescription to them, so that saved me $$. Trying to save anyway we can for this cycle!

    Have a good day!

He referred me to this Dr. that I have been going to... Started my BCP tonite so I am excited to be starting.... its just seems to be at step closer so thats the only reason why...not like BCP is exciting. Anyway, yeah I hope I have an success this time. Heck I hope we all have success. So how are you doing and hows things coming along with you. I really havent been on here but I do TRY and glance at the board time 2 time.

    oh yeah....
I have just been takin vitamins and trying my hardest to stay away from caffeine. I normally drink decaf, on the weekends I make have 1 reg. coffee per day...mostly in the morning

  15. Hi ladies

Just checking in to see how you ladies are doing? AFM patiently awaiting my lupron start date and still doing accupuncture once a week. I am starting to get anxious I just want to party started you know. Hope you guys are doing well.

    Kaycee

  16. Hello! Well, I love the accupunture and you are so right I didn't feel anything. Yea! My accupunturist(Dr M) was super nice and we talked about everything of course. Dr M wants to treat my DH for sperm mobility and morophology. So, I was glad to hear that news. Also, Dr M told me that he normally does not treat after you conceive but since I have m/c he said that he would treat me up until 3 months pg if I do conceive.. So, I was very pleased with my experience.

Ziggy-Glad to hear you got those vits! I know we all lack sometimes taking them...at least I do from time to time....

maklil-Great News! I am so excited for you.

    btm-Good luck w/Lupron..

K-Mom-You are so right! I felt so relaxed!

I hope everyone is doing well...What a busy week!

  17. Hi ladies! I'm going in for my second IVF this time with frozen embies from the first time. I was successful last time and my dd will be 2 about the same time I get the transfer. Started BCP last Sunday, and start lupron on 10/20

I have my TET today and SHG 10/14 - so much for modesty! Haha
    hope you are all well!
    Vikki

  18. Me, too - I am just waiting to start Lupron! I start this Sat, the 17th...I've never taken it before, I know what people say about it though. I don't care, I just want to start it and get on with it! When do you start, Kaycee?

  19. BTM- I start lupron on 10/22 I know its around the corner but I wish it was tomorrow . Lupron isnt bad at all you barely feel the needle.

Welcome French- good luck with your frozen cycle atleast you dont have to do all the stimming medication.

Oh ladies the day is coming slowly but surely . Hang in there!

    Kaycee

  20. Hi ladies. I have a scheduled ER date of 11/9. This is my 1st IVF due to blocked tubes. I havent done any type of fertility stuff so its all pretty new. I'm 30 and hubby is 33. They do not have me on Lupron. I started BCP last week and will do ganierelix after stim starts. Ok well glad we have eachother and good luck to you all! Karen

  21. Oh yeah! We have a FET date of november 18

  22. Well, TET went well today. RE said We will transfer all 3 of my frozen embies. I'm excited and a little scared. DH is getting nervous. Can't wait to start the lupron and get this party started!
I got my box of meds today -- I'm glad I'm not having to stim this time. Saves a bit of time and a lot of poking!
Kaycee - looks like we'll be running neck & neck!
Will anyone be getting Accupuncture in addition to everything? I found it really relaxing and helpful with dd. Not sure if I'll be doing it this time.

  23. I have been doing acupuncture since May and will continue. I go once a week and I agree I love it! I'll go day before transfer and then the next day. One center here has their women do acupuncture 30 min prior to FET and 30 min post FET.

  24. I had the 30/30 Accupuncture with dd, and was going weekly before the transfer. I am really thinking about going back for more \"points\" before the FET in November. I hate thinking about penny pinching, but insurance won't cover it this time.

  25. He actually told me locations on my thumb and I do it to myself everynight for 20 min PLUS I see him once a week for a full needle sticking session and moxa. All I know is that IF I dont get pregnant I know I did all that I could do in preparation! I hope mine goes like your...works first time with embroys to freeze!!!
