  1. Oh hi my name is Lori and I woke up this morning with a bit of watery pinkish spotting. I am really scared that I might lose this soooo precious baby. I had my betas on the 4th of feb and it was at 12d. It was at 1011 and four days later I got my result at 6035 so high numbers. I am sooo worried. Can't seem to find any peace of mind. any information is appreciated.

  2. HI Lori
So sorry that you are experiencing this. I don't have much experience, but if I were you, I would make sure I drink plenty of water from now onwards, rest in bed or couch more, just take it easy for the next day or so. I would also call your OB or RE ASAP to arrange for an emergency appt for them to do a scan and check if everything is ok.
    Take Care.

  3. Lori - with high numbers like that you may have multiples in there, how many did you transfer? Was it a 3dt or 5dt? If multiples, you are more likely to have bleeding - for some reason with IVF it is simply more common. Is there any cramping? Light pinkish isn't necessarily bad, but definitely scarey. Definitely drink plenty of water - as much as 96oz per day. Rest and do call your Dr, although doubtful he will do anything before Monday - but worth a call. I had bleeding - bright red with large clots - at just past 6 weeks and at the next US (we had done one ealry at 5w6d) both babies were just fine. I did have an SCH, which again, seems to be relatively common for some reason. Bed rest and water does tend to be the prescribed course, along with no uterine activity until resolved.

I am sorry you are going through this, but we will be pulling for you. I think there is just lots going on in there! When is first US scheduled for?

  4. Thank you both, I feel better now hearing your replies. Have slept most of the day....I am in New Zealand so just coming on to the night now. we transferred 1 AAAA blastocyst so think there is only one. I have been having a bit of cramping today but it seems to be relieved by farting, I tend to suffer a bit from gas! I hope that is what it is anyways. I will drink more water and a 10 day holiday on the beach will hopefully see me right. Oh we are such brave girls to be going through this. makes me cry thinking of all the steps we have had to pick ourselves up from. Thank you again garifalia and Amshel, you are wonderful support and I hope we all have our dreams manifest.

  5. Hey Amshel, I just read your post again and realized I haven't answered your questions. So the scan is after my holiday right on 7wks and I had a 5 day transfer. And I am sorry, I don't know what a SCH is?

  6. Lori - an SCH is sub chorionic hemmorage - basically a pocket of blood in the uterus that has to reabsorb or bleed out. More common among IVF for some reason.

Drink the water, rest, and enjoy your holiday. What I wouldn't do to get some beach time in before my two get here - if we are lucky, maybe a holiday after they get here some time over the summer - will have to see how things go.

    Hugs -

  7. thanks Amshel for that info. Its scarey coming across all these things that seem to be common. I woke up this morning and not a sight of pinky/bloody spots at all. Relieved, hope it all stays clear till my scan on the 25th of Feb!

  9. Hey muneer, how did your scan go? I had my scan on the 25th and there was a little heartbeat at 168 bpm and measured 7w5d. What a sweet moment!!!!! At our IVF clinic, the reading about 7 week scans say that if there is a heartbeat at 7wks, it is a 95% chance of a full term successful pregnancy!!!! Love them odds. So I guess the question is is there one or two for you? We do seem to be very close in our progress. I had er on Jan 18th and et was 5dt on the 23rd of Jan. When was yours.

Also have been doing heaps of researching about the spotting and for any of you girls out there that experience the same, IT IS very common! one site that I read it that because I am using progesterone suppositories that it mixes in with the lining and can have a bit of pink discharge so as scary as it seems at the time, just head to bed, relax and drink lots of water.

  11. Oh how exciting muneer!!!!! Two little gorgeous beans!!! I can imagine you are over the moon.

So on the upcoming 9th week we will be growing eyelids!!! And the little arms have appeared and whew so much going on. The size of a grape! No wonder I am so tired. Little naps twice a day and early to bed.

Where are you from? I have a feeling you are from Oz. There is a wonderful hilarious very informative book called "up the Duff' by Kaz Cooke, she's an Aussie chick. If anybody can get it, get it! best book I've come across!
