  1. Donnie - Mine were side by side and then at the next appt the girl was still on the side and very low and the boy was acrossed the top. So, they can move, but still attached to the placenta so can only go so far. I don't think they can literally flip from one side to the other.

I know now I feel the baby B up top a lot and baby A is still on the left, but definitely very low.

On a side note - I think I found 2 Chicco Keyfit30 carseats - brand new, never used for $75 each. So my dilema is, do I stick with the snugrides I have or go for the Chiccos and just sell the Snugrides I have already bought. Decisions, decisions.

    Hugs - A

  2. Amshel, if you can't return the Snugrides, then you might take an additional hit on the price you paid for them. Guess you can throw it out in the market place to see. Would you consider selling because you think the chicos are better or were they a much better price than what you paid for the Snugrides?

My chest/boobs/heart were really achy this AM. Not sure if it was the cold or what. I was worried, thinking it could be my heart. I slept in and paid a $20 cab ride to the train vs. getting up earlier and having DH drive me. The extra rest did help. Separately, I think I need to get a new bra. Starting to feel tight and I see a line. Any suggestions on what might be comfortable, provide contour/shape but won't cost a bunch? I don't think the cup size has changed all that much though I am fuller. It's more the girth. Probably not ready for a \"nursing bra\" and I likely won't be nursing. Also, I'm not sure how much bigger I'll get - the ever pressing question. While clothes being too big is sort of OK, with undergarments, there's a limit to how loose is too loose.

  3. Hi Anna, the snugrides are great infant carseats so I would just keep them than go thru the trouble of trying to sell them. Plus your babies will probably be in snugrides for 6 months and then you will be moving to the convertibles.

If you get the chicco keyfit 30 then you may get a few more months use out of them (or not if your babies outgrow it in length before weight), but not sure it is worth the trouble to sell the snugrides.

Curious, You are lucky that you have gone this far into the pregnancy without the need for a new bra. I had to buy new bras by week 12 as I went up 2 cup sizes! Went from a \"B\" cup to a \"D\"!! The same went for my workout bra. I bought mine at the clearance rack at nordstrom, but you can always try target for less expensive ones.

  4. Hi all - we decided to keep the snugrides after talking to a few friends who said the same thing - most people seem to think that the babies will be in the next step up for a carseat between 6 and 9 months depending on size when they are born anyway.

As far as Bra's, don't even get me started. I was a c-d when starting and now I am at an E and finally found something that I am comfortable in. I plan on going to Nordstroms and trying on the Bravada brand - supposedly one of the best - and then buying them on line, where they are supposedly cheaper. I am hoping I did most of my growing at the beginning, rather than the end when most ppl say you can go up two sizes in prep for nursing. I am fine where I am at, thank you.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and a wonderful Valentine's Day. Massage today and hair appt tomorrow, and DH's family in for the weekend, and supposedly the chance of some snow.

    Hugs - Anna

  5. Curious, a gf advised me to get inexpensive sports bras in a larger size, which I did at the glamorous K-Mart. I got the light support kind. So far this has worked well. If I have to move up a size or two, and I'm thinking I might have to, I didn't shell out a lot. Obviously, this doesn't provide the level of contour/shape that you might normally want for office wear, but at this point that feels like the Venus of Willendorf watching one of those old Jane Russell Playtex commercials and wondering whether a Cross-My-Heart might be the answer to her problems.

Re baby movements, I couldn't feel them until I was about 23 weeks, which was very unnerving. Now at 26 weeks I get nervous when I don't feel them. I've had a cold that is just kicking my butt, and that seems to have made them a little subdued, too. If this is what pregnancy does to a cold, I can understand why the public health officials were hustling us out into those long lines to get our H1N1 shots. Will be seeing the OB/GYN Monday and am glad of it.

  6. Nesting today. I said I wouldn't do anything till week 24 but I couldn't resist and neither could the rest of our family. We set up my 5yo sons crib in our room and it is so cute. My 5yo got involved in it all and seemed to enjoy the whole thing. Our crib was a gift from my late mother in law. Beautiful Ethan allen white crib. I'm hoping they can share that crib for a while till I find one on ebay or craigslist. I refuse to buy a new crib at that price range. Anyway, just sharing my fun day with everyone. Hope you all have had a nice weekend so far.

  7. Jane- Im starting to get antsy as well. was rocking ds and looking in his closet at all the empty hangers from clothes I have packed up and was thinking maybe I'll get them unpacked and washed and hung up. need to get another dresser too so I have somewhere to put the non hangables such as blankets socks etc. I have a feeling once I hit 24 wks the rest of this pg will fly by cause I am so not ready for them to get here. I have a cradle and a bassinet so thats what they will use in the beginning till we figure out where everyone is going to sleep. looks like our LR is going to become our nersery for the first couple of months anyways....lol

hope everyone has a great v-day.

  8. noticed today my belly button is GONE! Jane 21.6 gg (almost 22!)

  9. Am I alone in feeling like my muscles are just exhausted by the end of the day? I think I can only make a 12 hour day awake!

I\'ve noticed a surge in my breast size the last week or so. At 24 weeks tomorrow, I'm hoping this is the last growth spurt.

Had a wonderful v-day yesterday - hope everyone else did too!

  10. Ok Jane-please explain what you mean by gone? I've heard of them popping out but disppearing?....lol

L-Muscles? being on bedrest I have none...lol...This past week I have started getting up a little more because I know otherwise its gonna be horrible. My Breasts are also huge. can only imagine what they will look like when my milk comes in.

AFM-u/s and drs appt this morning. wonder if I've gained any weight. according to my scale at home I lost 1lb. babies have been pretty active. been feeling pretty good. not as many cxs so have allowed myself a little more freedom. I'll update more later after I get back from drs.

  11. I think this worst part for me right now is sleeping (or rather, the lack thereof), so I understand what you are saying about having shorter days, lgravel. I find that whenever I try to switch sides or positions, I press on my bladder and have to pee (again) and then it is just the same thing, rinse/repeat all.night.long. My hips are especially sore and suprisingly, my belly button hurts!!

  12. Dr appointment today went well. I am measuring at 30 weeks (OMG). Both babies HB are strong and steady. As far as sleeping goes I dread the nights but I'm so exhausted by 5pm that I watch the clock to when I can legally go to bed. Every time I turn it's an effort. Irish this is prepping us for what's to come. No sleep! Oddly enough I am so looking forward to that time.
Lori It's just a flat surface where my belly used to be in it's just gone. NO belly lint. Hope all is well with everyone else. Jane 22.1 gg

  13. LOl jane- ok so guess your fixing to have an outie...lol are u 2 weeks behind me? I thought we were the same. I can relate to being tired all the time. most nights Im asleep by 8 except tonight I cant stop eating...lol

  14. Lori, We are one day apart I think. Sounds like your babies are going on a growth spirt since your so hungry!
Oh I see what I did, I'm stuck on 20w because I never thought I would get there.

  15. Jane,
Welcome to the club on the disappearing belly button. Mine flattened out at about 16 weeks My husband looked at my tummy last week and said \"hey, where did your belly button go?!?!\" Have you had the linea nigra appear yet? Mine started showing at 20 weeks and runs below and above my belly button en.wikipedia.org

    Anna,
Glad to hear you decided to keep the snugrides. It would have been more of a hassle to try and sell them if you bought the Chicco Keyfit 30. I am sure you have better things to do than try and sell the snugrides. Speaking of carseats, I drove down 40 minutes from my house to look at buy a Chicco Keyfit 30 from someone selling their 3 month used carseat on Craigslist, only to find out it was the 22 lb version of the Keyfit and not the 30. The seller listed it as a Keyfit 30 but it was not. I was bummed and annoyed that I drove down there during rush hour to look at it. Ugh!!!

    AFM,
I had my high end ultrasound on Monday to check the growth and progress of each of the babies. Both are developing well. Baby A (the girl) is still about 5 days behind of Baby B. Seems the boy is stealing most of the food -- LOL! She checked my cervix length via abdominal ultrasound and said it was at 4cm, which is good. Apparently they like to see it above 3cm at 24 weeks. We got 3D image of the girls face and you can see her eyelids, nose and mouth...so cool! We could not get one of the boy since the girls elbow was in the way. We will try again at my next ultrasound at 28 weeks.

I go in to see my OB this morning. I have only gained 2-3 lbs since my last visit 4 weeks ago, so will see what she has to say.

Feeling round ligament pain as well -- anyone else?

Hope all is well with everyone and you are having a good week!

  16. Donnie my Linea nigra has been there since about 18 weeks. Last night I woke up in a sweat and felt awful. I thought my blood sugar had dropped but I think what happened is I was sleeping on my back and it made me lightheaded and sick. This happened rapidly at my 20w us and shocked me with how quickly I began to feel sick.
I think the 3d, 4d us is incredible. I cannot wait till my next us on the 2nd of March.
Lori I'm sure what was once my belly button will be sticking out within the next few weeks. I can now put the remote control on my belly while sitting down and watching tv. I feel huge now so I can't imagine how we are all going to feel in the last weeks of our pregnancy. Donnie is ahead of us so she can give us the lowdown.

  17. Just received a ups package from baby gap. OMG the girls clothes are so teeny and so cute. I ordered 4 of their swaddling blankets which are terry cloth and big. Perfect to swaddle the babies that seem to squiggle out of every wrap. I opened the swaddle blankets to see for myself how nice they were and so far no regrets. I wanted to open the clothes but will hold off for a while. And I said I wouldn't do this but I DID and purchased matching outfits and sleepers. The mother of twins has been unleashed! Jane 22.3 gg

  18. Jane, I love Baby Gap, too. As for the linea negra, it showed up in my first pregnancy about 30 weeks, I guess. So far, nothing with this one, just a rather bruised, painful looking belly button and some stretched out-stretch marks - haha.

If anyone is looking for a great swaddle, too, I used the Miracle Blanket with Ainsley, my daughter, and LOVED it. She actually slept swaddled until she was almost 5 months old, strange as it sounds. I think it helped her feel soothed and she did sleep better. You can order them online and they have different sizes.

I had an ultrasound last night, all is well. The boys are almost 3 pounds each now, cervix long and closed, fluid good, just having some random contractions they are watching. Still have a complete previa, ug. I am going to go on \"house arrest\" from work next Friday, with the hopes of a scheduled c-section the first week of April after checking lung development.

  19. FYI... I just bought two Halo swaddling sleepsacks. I hear that they are great for swaddling and when you no longer need to swaddle you can remove the wings and use the sleepsacks. You can also keep the baby swaddled while changing their diaper.

You can order them at Target or BRU.

  20. Donnie my Linea nigra has been there since about 18 weeks. Last night I woke up in a sweat and felt awful. Hi Jane,
I am only 2 weeks ahead of you and according to my weight gain taken today I have only gained 2 lbs in the last 4 weeks. She said I am measuring at 30 weeks, but wants me to start eating more protein snacks in between meals. I bought some belly bars to try and also found some protein bars at Whole Foods that have 20g of protein and 0g of sugar. They are called \"thinkThin\".

  21. Ok girls-another crazy question. is anyones belly inside sore? I noticed the last couple of days that Im sore \"inside\" my belly. not sure how else to explain it but figure it has to be from the babies kicking me so much as they are extremely active now most every day.

donnie-if you like pistachios those are full of protein as well. I also try to drink 2 ensures a day for the calories/protein. Im only up 11 lbs at 22 wks but babies are growing as they should so drs aren't concerned yet.

Does anyone know the best time frame to get a 3/4D u/s with twins? I definately am going to get one just not sure when it would be the best time to get the best pics. I am so tired. not sleeping well at all these days. getting hard to turn over and cant stay on either side for very long. trying so hard not to complain and just enjoy this pg as I know it will definately be my last. so sad to think of that. I've always loved being pg and feeling movement inside me. cant believe how fast this seems to be going. in 3 mos it will be warm and our babies will be here. Im gonna be a mad woman at the end trying to get everything together for them.

  22. Lori I read that the best time to get a 3d,4d is in weeks 26-28. gotta run for now I'll post more later. Jane 22.3 gg

  23. having horrible backache today. not sure if its baby related or not so gonna go to drs at 145. overall feel like cr*p today. hope everyone else feels better. who all has appts this week?

  24. Hi Lori, I bought a large bag of pistaschios from Costco and leave them at work with cashews, almonds and craisins. The problem is I forget to snack as I am not hungry so have to be mindful of doing so. I also have protein powder that I use to make fruit smoothies, but that usually occurs on the weekends. I have gained a total of 22# at 24 weeks. My OB is not overly concerned but said that I should be gaining more weight from 20 weeks on (~1.5 per week) and I have only gained 2# since my 20 week visit 4 weeks ago.

As for the 3D ultrasound, I go in every 4 weeks for a 2D in-depth look at the babies growth (organs, etc) and just had my 24 week u/s on Monday. The technician did a 3D scan for me of Baby A's face (since Baby B's face was obstructed by Baby A). You could see details (eyelids, nose, and mouth and face shape), however there was no fat on it. She said the best time to do a scan is at 28 weeks or later.

As for soreness inside my tummy...can't say I have experienced anything similar. Maybe it is soreness from your uterus stretching. Good luck at your appt this afternoon and hope you feel better.

    Best,
    Donnie

  25. Hi ladies - thanks for the bra advice. Will try some on this weekend. Unfortunately, since I only aspire to a B cup, I can probably wear regular ones and maybe save the $40 for the nursing bra right around delivery time where allegedly one goes up a cup. I would say you ladies have been lucky for the past few decades whereas, I'm only reaping the benefits of upside for 9 months

Donnie/JRM - on the sleep sacks, do our babies need them if they will be born in May/June? Or are you factoring in a lot of air conditioning? How will we know what size they will be by, say, Fall, when it starts to get colder? Is the swaddle (vs. sleep sack) more for after bath? (sorry if these questions are dumb. I'm a first timer here)

Lori, I don't feel sore inside my belly but I have had stomach aches on and off. I think from the other thread your doctor's visit went well.

Amshel, I hear if you follow the same routine at night, it is easier to get to sleep. I try to drink warm milk just before brushing my teeth and going to bed. It won't really help with the peeing and getting up at night but maybe it will save you some time spent falling asleep. I also find i have to switch sides during the night because each side, especially the left, gets achy. Thus, I have had to abandon my snoogle, which is one-sided and hard to switch in the middle of the night for regular pillows. Not sure how long this new technique will last

Yes, I have a little bit of a linea niagra, too. As for the \"disappearing belly button\" I;ve noticed mine is flattening out too. Some nights I think I actually feel my stomach stretching after dinner. I actually saw a mini-kick that was visible externally. I really hope the new work dress shirts I bought will last 4-6 weeks when my first assignment is supposed to be done. That said, the good news is the client asked about my services for longer term. I gave a simple \"yes\" and figured I would work it out with the ad agency that hired me. I might have another 4 weeks in April that I'll be able to work part time, if I'm lucky and maybe into two weeks of May? (hope i don't sound like a wimp to all you full-timers). Keep in mind, I have a good hour and 20 minute commute each way to my free-lance job. Might be able to work remote some times.

Next scan is on Wed! Plus, they are doing a special fetal heart analysis in another 2.5 wks, since my dad had a congenital bifurcation of an artery. On the big 20wk scan, everything, including the hearts looked OK so it is just a precaution.
