  1. I did a fresh transfer Sat. the 7th and I couldn't hold out anymore so I POASed today. Nothing! I am praying that maybe it is too early since this is our last try but I am already wanting to throw up my arms and cry!!!! Our only issue is MF so why aren't we implanting!!! This will be my 7th IVF. Does anyone have any stories about getting negative POAS on day 6 and 7 and then ultimately becoming positive? I could really use some good stories now. By the way we transferred 2 great looking embies that were 8 and 9 celled and 1 embie that was 11 celled.

  2. Cameron, give those babies a chance to get settled in. I know it is hard and it makes everyone nuts but I promise it is far too soon to give up hope.

I know it seem sensible to test early because so many of us do and get to see the bfp news a little early but you have to consider the big picture. You transfered 3 day embies 6 days before your test. It is too soon.

Here is a time line of what is happening with your cycle day by day...

1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
2dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt.. Implantation begins as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt.. Morula is completely implanted in the lining and has placenta cells & fetal cells
8dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on HPT

I made day 6 darker so you wouldn't miss it. That baby is still just getting settled in and won't even start making hcg until 8 days after you transfer. Once it starts to make hcg it still needs to make enough to have it build up in the blood to the extent that you end up with a large enough amount in your urine to show up when you POS. That is 11 days post transfer.

Then there is the whole "how dilluted is your urine" question and that depends upon when you test, if you got up and peed during the night and how much you had to drink. You can be pregnant, test positive and then the next day get a negative because of your hydration levels.

I know there are women who test early and get a bfp so it feels like you should too but remember not everyone is the same. You did a 3 day transfer and someone else might have done a 5 day transfer. If you expect to test positive at the same number of days post transfer you will be disappointed. And then there are the ones carrying multiples who will test positive sooner because there are more babies making hcg. There are even those who are getting false positives due to testing too soon after their trigger shots (which contain hcg) and just end up pregnant by coincidence.

I hope that might make you feel a little better. Go easy on yourself and give that baby a chance to do its job before you start to worry

  3. Cameron- I am a clear example- I also did a day 3 transfer of 3 embryo's - was positive it had worked- started poas on day 6- BFN day 6-day 9. Finally on morning of day 10 BFP- faint but there. I knew it was negative on day 9, and dh said I was crazy- beta 11dp3dt 86, and 13dp3dt 166.

Don\'t give up hope hon- it's not negative until beta says it is.

  4. Thank you soooo much. I really need to hear some reassurrance and stories right now. I greatly appreciate it!!! Keep them coming!!

  5. Hi There

    Dont give up .

This was my 8th IVF. All BFN - until no8. Transferred 3 blasts. Didnt get a BFP till 9 days post transfer of embies. Even then it was so light, that I made my husband pee on the stick to see what it would turn out.

Now 11 weeks pregnant with a singleton.

    Hang in there.

  6. Even then it was so light, that I made my husband pee on the stick to see what it would turn out.

this totally cracked me up - thanks for the laugh during my 2WW!

Cameron - 2WW is awful, I'm sorry. Wow, you've been through a lot of cycles, I hope this one is BFP finally. I just had dinner with a friend and her 3 year old twins from her 7th fresh cycle!
