  1. hello, any thoughts on the agency vs clinic decision would be greatly appreciated. thank you

  2. our clinic gave us the choice of 2 agencys that they normally reccomend. We went with Reproductive Assistance Inc. Lisa the owner is amazing.

thanks tinkerbel, i say your post re Lisa a while back and have been emailing with her today.

  4. she is WONDERFUL! I always say when choosing a donor go with your gut but Lisa can really be super duper helpful. I gave her my 3 choices and she is the one who really recommended our donor and we have been thrilled with her.

  5. We looked for a donor first (using various agency websites and ORM's in house agency website). It ended up we liked the donor at ORM best and so cycled there (they have excellent stats and I believe they require their in-house donors to cycle there). It all worked out well and I'm 21 weeks pg now.

Prior to this cycle, though, we had chosen 2 donors through different agencies (the first one's cycle was cancelled, due to poor response; the second donor bailed on us early in the screening process).

For us, finding the right donor using as many resources as possible was more important than whether she came from an agency or in-house pool. However, it is hard to look at some in-house pools without first being seen by the clinic.

One option you may want to consider is "donorconcierge.com". She can help you scour web-based sites if you have difficult to meet criteria.

    Good luck!

thanks NWG, i'm really comfortable with my RE and clinic so would love to go w an agency donor so she can cycle there too and i'll know she's in good hands. someone else on this board recommended Gail at donorconcierge this morning. i called her and she spent an hour on the phone w me which was v generous of her. did you use her at all? i think i'm going to give her a shot. she charges $500 and searches through ~50 agency databases with our criteria. plus she has a lot of experience and i enjoyed speaking to her on the phone.

  7. I answerd known donar. I had a friend who all of a sudden one day phoned and offered to be a surrogate, turn out we didn't need a surrogate. However we never went with her because I felt she would probably bail during the stimming So........ after our failed cycle, I phoned a friend and asked if she'd be our donar. I'm now 15wks with a singleton. Dh and I are so grateful for her generosity We can't express how grateful we are! We've let her be as involved as she wants to be in this process and if she'd like to be at the delivery, so be it I followed my gutt and didn't go with the first friend and asked the second one because I KNEW she'd follow through and I also felt much more comfortable with her and I've known her for 20+ years

  8. we were told we could use whatever agency we wanted - so i just searched the databases of most all of the agencies that had signed on to the ethical agreement put out by asrm- and went with the agency that had the donor we wanted. they were called tiny treasures and it worked out just fine. they seem to be on the up and up.
