  1. hello im 39 yrs old , I had my tubes tide when i was 27, when i was 34 i had a tublereversal done, and it was not successful, there was no tubes left, we were heartbroken anyway the doctor that did my reversal said that the only way we can concieve is through ivf and so i found yall on the internet to maybe get some support with all this,,
i have a few questions if anybody can help please do so,
will my insurance pay any on this treatment we went locally and was told that it would cost about 9000.00 to have only one treatment done.
also i will be forty in october do you think i will have a chance at having a baby with the first try, i no we are not financially able to do this two or more there is no way we could afford it...anyway hope to talk with some of you thanks for reading this

  2. $9,000 is expensive but it is also a relatively good price compared to many other places. Does the price include ICSI or Assisted Hatching? If not, you may be able to find it a little cheaper there are places with good reputations that are not quite that expensive (but almost). SIRM in Vegas and Dallas now have micro-ivf.

IMO, you should give it one try even if you can't afford more. The reason is that you may always wonder. I'm 41 and the chances of a 39 or 40 year old getting pregnant through IVF are statistically low. I had a chemical on my first one but my friend who was 43 with her first one just delivered a baby. There's no way to know. Both of us beat the odds- although I sure didn't feel like I did.

About the insurance, you will have to ask them what you actually have and then be sure to go to someone in-network. Our insurance said that it only covered diagnosis and treatment of the underlying problem. But, low and behold, they paid on the prescriptions and for the ultrasounds and bloodwork once we reached our deductible. This saved us some money.

I would do a lot of homework and then give it my best try.

What state do you live in? There are over 11 states that require your insurance companies to cover IVF. You might want to check with your insurance. I am also 39 and my doctor's stats are 34.7% success rate which is over the national average for my age (39). The national average is 29%.
