For Fun, how much weight have you gained so far?

  1. I delivered my twins at 37.6 weeks and had gained 37 pounds by then. I was normal/avg height and weight before I got pg and gained 30 lbs with my singleton. Per my doctor I never \"tried\" to put on weight. I ate normally and would try to have an extra snack once a day, usually a smoothie, 1/2 pb sandwich, yogurt, something like that. My doctor told me that the Dr. Luke book is good info, but thought the diet plan was too much. I'd just suggest discussing your diet with your own doctor.

I did drink a TON of water.

And FWIW, my twins were 5 lbs 16 oz and 5 lbs 8 oz, each about 19.5 in long. Now at 21 months they're both about 25 lbs.

  2. I'll be 26 weeks tomorrow and I'm up 23lbs with quadruplets!

  3. Gained 70 lbs by the time I delivered my twins at nearly 37 weeks.

  4. Alexandar-Quads, wow! Good luck to you, I remember feeling so big with only twins.

  5. Just had a 21 wk appointment yesterday and I'm at 25 pounds.
    Definitely all the christmas cookies!

  6. 36 weeks, 2 days: 37 lbs. Each baby is currently over 6lbs.
I measure 50 weeks if I was carrying a singleton.

  7. jane - when did you gain most of the weight? At the end or have you been consistent weekly?

  8. 50 weeks! Your poor tummy!

  9. I was pretty consistent, about one pound per week right from the start, as I never had any morning sickness. I am all belly. From the back you can't tell I'm pregnant. I started off small (110 lbs, 5'3\") -- so my stomach looks huge. But they are healthy and likely to both be in the 7lb+ range when I deliver (c-section scheduled for 38W3D).

    Good luck with your pregnancies!

  10. Okay, I am seventeen weeks and I think I have gained about 20 lbs. With my singleton, I had gained only 7 lbs. at 20 weeks. In the beginning, I really ate quite a bit according to Dr. Luke but at this rate, I am afraid I might gain too much weight. When I am not pregnant, I limit my carb intake due to PCOS. Should I do that now and the babies will still get their nutrients? But, then again, I have to remind myself that I am carrying twins and will not go the whole 40 weeks. Please tell me what you all think.

  12. I'm 21 weeks with my 2nd set of twins...I have gained 6 lbs so far but started this pregnancy with about 20 extra pounds of padding that I didn't have at the start of my 1st twin pregnancy.

At 20 weeks with my 1st set of twins I had gained approximately 20 lbs (according to my OB's records)

    Good luck!

  13. I gained 45lbs with my twins and delievered at 33w.

I was on bedrest from week 17 on, and eating was not fun for me. Since I was always laying down, I was always full feeling... I drank 1 or 2 Boost high protien shakes a day, root beer floats, and lots full fat foods

I am currently 25w with a singleton, and have gained 10 so far...

  14. Update - had an appt today.

21w3d and I'm up 15 pounds (twin g/g). Thought it would be more, I feel huuuuge.

  15. Brit, I feel huge also (currently 23 w with identical girls) and I lost 4lbs last week.

I'm really struggling to eat. There just isn't any room in there. I take about 3 bites of my meal and I'm full for hours.

  16. I gained 30 lbs and had my twins at 28 weeks and 6 days...they weighed 3.1 lbs and 2.14 lbs - which I was told was quite big for twins at that gestation. Makes me very happy that I ate as well as I did to gain steadly!

  17. I am 12 weeks with quads and have gained 6 lbs so far.

  18. Wow! Quads- you have all my respect. Eat as much as you possibly can now- it gets hard quickly.

I am still gaining around 1.5lbs a week. 23 weeks now and up 34 lbs.

Has slowed down a bit as eating becomes more difficult. Thank god for multi grain pasta!

  19. Here's my latest update: 26w3d with g/g twins and up 20 pounds. Babies both measured about two pounds. I feel like my skin is too tight for my body now so I can't imagine how the next ten weeks are going to go!

  20. I am almost 13 weeks and as of yesterday, I gained 12 pounds.

I think the bulk of it was in the first 6 weeks; I was rather thing to begin with and I think my body just wanted a little extra cushion. (Or, OK, my love affair with donuts may have a little bit to do with it )

  21. I'm 33 wks with g/g twins and have gained 50 lbs. They're measuring 4 lbs and 5 lbs as of a couple of days ago so I am really glad I ate while I could still fit the food in my belly. I haven't gained any weight in the last 2 wks, but my OB said that's common because at this stage they're using up everything I'm taking in with their (constant) movement and growth.

Brit I am in the same boat. 26w with g/g twins and feel like s stuffed sausage. I have gained 19 so far and cant imagine what its going to feel like gaining more. Yuck!

  23. I'm 18w3d with two boys and up just 3lbs from my pre-preg weight. I had such bad morning sickness that I lost 6 lbs, so at least I'm up 9lbs from there. Still taking Zofran on occasion to get through the day and it helps my appetite. Dr. Luke's book scares the **** out of me--how can I ever gain so much? Did anyone not gain a lot of weight and still have nice big babies?

  24. I am 18w6d with b/b twins and I am up about 5 pounds now. I finally feel good to be gaining some weight!! The belly is starting to grow a bit now, which is a relief because I actually feel pregnant, finally!

  25. I'm 19w w/ g/g twins and I am up 17 lbs. Trying hard to make it to Dr. Luke's 25lbs by 20w. Already having a hard time eating (too full!) and my weight gain the last several appt. has really slowed down.
