  1. What do you do for exercise? I was too scared to do anything in the first trimester and put my gym membership on hold. I got a bit more energy now and wonder if I should start exercising to be in shape for delivery.
Do you take any classes? Or use DVDs? Do you think that we should be more careful than women with singletons?
    Thank you for sharing!

  2. I was pretty active up until my ret. Then I just lounged around nothing outside normal activities and then the weight gain started and I found out I am having twins. I am 10w2d and babies are doing great. I really want to start walking but am waiting form my 12 week mark and then I will discuss exercise with my dr. I would like to do pregnancy yoga. I will be interested in seeing what everyone decides on exercise.

  3. I've been walking 3 miles about 5x/week and pushing my 3y/o in a stroller (hilly trail). I sometimes walk with my ob and she is encouraging me to continue. I'm not sure how long I will be able to do it but I would think until late 20's. I started walking again at about 5wks but took time off before then for cycling. BTW, I am 9 wks pg with twins. I think moderate exercise it very safe and healthy. I understand the fear of the first tri though. Go enjoy yourself

  4. I was walking during my first trimester but I did notice that I got short of breath much easier than usual. I think I gave up walking around the end of the first tri. Second tri I was feeling great until about 15 weeks when I got a terrible cold that knocked me flat for three weeks and by the time I recovered from that, I was pretty much unable to exercise at all anymore. Now at 26 weeks I get tired just going up and down the stairs at home.

I walked halfway down the shopping mall and back yesterday and thought I was going to need to collapse in a chair and sleep right there in the middle of the mall. I am usually a very active person (runner, hiker, etc.) so this is very unusual for me.

  5. Thanks for the tips on the exercise. I really need to get out and do more. I have just been so worried. Time to get over that hump! Good luck everyone!
