  1. Julie - that is great news!! I will keep all of my fingers and toes crossed for you on Wednesday.

  2. Got my beta -- it's 118. That seems like a pretty good, solid number for 11dp3dt (but probably not high enough for twins). They are looking for 100 or higher. Next beta in 2 days, then an ultrasound late next week.

  3. Wonderful news! Julie, I'm so excited and happy for you!

  4. YAY YAY YAY!! I am so happy for you Julie.

  5. Julie, thinking of you. Impatiently waiting for beta #2. oxoxoxo

  6. I'm waiting too. I'm traveling & the lab I went to doesn't do same-day results. Sigh…

  7. Been there! Out of town cycling adds a whole extra level of stress! Then again, in some ways it's less stressful. No house to clean. No meals to plan.

  8. Ok, just got the call -- second beta is 257. So it's right on track. I think the first sign of bad news last time was at the 6.5 week ultrasound, when the hb was slow. So I think I'll feel better at that stage if hb is normal this time. And just a whole lot better if I can make it to the second trimester. But for now, this is definitely good news!

Thanks so much WDTTG and Miss Sunny for all your supportive words and concern.

  9. Palavouzopoulos,

You don't know me, but I have silently lurked. As a fellow, 40+ yr old, congratulations on 2 really good beta's. I'm pulling for you! Good luck.

By the way, I'm from Pittsburgh, too. Have lived here in NYC for the last 14 years, though.

  10. Great second beta Julie! GL at your u/s. I hope you see a beautiful little heartbeat.

  11. Fabulous!!! What day is your u/s?

WDTTG, what's the latest with your LO\'s?

Can you believe that Ella is 4 mos today? She's doing great. Still tiny, only 11 lbs, but very healthy, happy, and active. She's meeting or beating all of the develpmental markers.

  12. Wow - go Ella. Does she talk much? My two are chatting away all the time now.

LOs are doing great. They will be 4 weeks next Friday. Time is just flying by. Emma is up to 13lbs and James is 16lbs - based on our scale at home. They go for their 4 months appt on 3/7 so we will get their official weights. We put James on rice cereal last night because he is just so hungry. The first bite was rough but after that he ate it like a champ. Emma had a few tries of it but she is obviously not ready so we will try again in a month or two.

They seem to be doing really well health-wise. James goes for another u/s of his kidney at 6 months. I am also a little concerned about the shape of his head. I think we might need a helmet for a few months. We have been working with him to get him to lay on the other side, but he always goes back to the flat side.
