  1. Wow Miss Sunny, this week! I'll be thinking of you and sending all my best hopeful thoughts your way. Your little girl is so lucky to have you!

WDTTG sounds like all is well and you have a good plan in place. Keep us posted!

I am getting ready for my next try. My day 2 bw is tomorrow and I'll go to NYC on Saturday. I've been getting the house ready for painting and carpet that I hope will happen while I'm away (still struggling with the painter to get him in then). Trying to set myself up to relax once I'm back and give it the best chance I can.

    Good luck to us all!

  2. salapataras - I am sorry that your little one is falling behind. Our baby b is about 9 days behind now but hanging in there. I hope your amnio shows great lung development so you can safely deliver. Do they have an idea how much she weighs now?

Julie - GL with your cycle!! I will be thinking of you this weekend.

We were suppose to get our csection date today but the hospital still hasn't scheduled it yet. We assume they will schedule us for around 38 weeks (Nov 13). Our goal is to get to 36 weeks so both babies will hopefully be over 5 pounds. I am having more contractions, but nothing of too much concern at this point.

  3. As of friday, they estimate she weighed 4 lbs 8 oz. We too, are hoping to get her up to 5 lbs. Ahhh! It's so scary. I was back at the drs office today b/c she wasn't moving as she normally does.

I really do think that at this point she'll be safer out than in the uterus.

Julie, enjoy NY. What all will they do this trip?

  4. salapataras - I am so sorry the end of your pregnancy is so stressful and scary. GL with the amnio today and with the induction if she is ready.

  5. Miss Sunny, I've really been thinking of you the past few days and hoping for the best. I hope that everything goes well and yes having her in your arms will probably be the best situation. I'll be thinking of you...

  6. No go for today. The lung maturity test showed that they aren't ready. We're scheduled to induce on Thurs Oct 22.

  7. Thanks for posting an update. I have been thinking about you. Sorry things aren't ready, but Oct 22 is right around the corner. Not long now. Hopefully our little girl takes this next week to grow some more.

  8. salapataras - I just wanted to wish you the best of luck for your delivery tomorrow. I hope your little girl comes quickly and everyone is healthy and happy.

Julie - how is your cycle going?

All is quiet with me. We had our weekly OB appt yesterday and both babies passed their stress test with flying colors. I will be 35 weeks on Friday and it looks like we will definitely make our 36 week goal date - and probably beyond.

  9. Good luck Miss Sunny. I am thinking of you. This sounds like a stressful time. Both my sisters had last-minute stress as well before my nephews were born. My older sister was also doing lung development tests, waiting until the lungs were ready before her c-section. And my younger sister was told that the baby was too small but when he was born he was actually above average size. Both of them were fine! I hope you are also pleasantly surprised when your little girl arrives. I'll be thinking of you.

WDTTG, sounds like all is going well. You must be getting huge with those two babies! Good luck!

I'm cycling now (sitting in the waiting room at Cornell right now). It seems to be going fine but much more slowly than the last two times. I'm on a slightly different protocol this time, doing a Lupron flare rather than microdose. Last time things went maybe too quickly so I'm taking the slow pace of development as a good sign. Most likely ER on Sunday or Monday.

Miss Sunny I'll be thinking of you tomorrow!!

  10. I don't want to steal Miss Sunny's thunder, but I heard from her offline and I know others may be concerned, so I just wanted to post that mother and baby are both ok, and her little girl is adorable. I'll leave it to Miss Sunny to provide details when she's up to it, which might not be for a few days.

  11. CONGRATS MISS SUNNY!! I can't wait to hear the details. I am so happy for you.

    Thanks for posting Julie.

  12. Here's a update on my progress. I had my ER today, and they got 18 eggs!! That's the most I've ever produced, so I'm optimistic. (And waaaaaaaay better than last time, when they only got 3 and only 1 fertilized.) This new protocol really seems to be perfect for me. I'll find out tomorrow how many fertilize and then transfer is Thursday.

WDTTG, when's your next Appointment? It's great that the babies are still taking their time.

Miss Sunny, congratulations, can't wait for the details!

  13. Wow Julie, that is awesome!! What a great ER. I can't wait to hear about your fert report.

We have an OB appt on Tuesday just to do a stress test. We go back on Thursday to the specialist. Hopefully both babies will be well over the 5 pound mark and I will show some signs that they are coming sometime in the next 2 weeks.

  14. WDTTG, good luck with the stress test and specialist this week!

An update for me: of my 18 eggs, 16 fertilized! Holy cow! I can't believe how well this is going, I am so optimistic. My transfer is on Thursday, beta on 11/9.

  15. I can't believe what a difference you have this cycle from last. That is so awesome. GL with your transfer!! Hopefully Thursday will be a good day for us both.

  16. Well today was an interesting day. It turns out our Baby girl has growth restriction issues and it is time for them to be delivered. They want us to try to go one more week so they have better lung development. I go just about every day to the OB or specialist for montoring. They are also testing me for preeclampsia. So as of now, I am on full bed rest for the next week.

Julie - how was your ET?

salapataras - I hope things are going well with you and your little girl.

  17. Just wanted to give you a quick update that we got our csection date bumped from 11/6 to 11/7.

  18. Wow, how exciting! (I thought I had posted a reply to your last message but looks like not, oops.) It will be great to get those babies out and into your arms!

My transfer went great!! They put 5 embryos back, 3 were 8-cell, one was 9 and one was 10!! That's definitely the best yet!! Also another egg fertilized later so in total 17 of the 18 fertilized. I should find out soon if any of the remaining ones were good enough to freeeze. And my beta is a week from today.

    So... Here's hoping!

  19. Julie! I'm blown away by the success of this cycle. This has got to be the one. AND you have embryos to freeze for sibling cycles.

WDTTG! That's this week! Good luck to you!

AFM - Ella Caroline was born October 22, 2009. She weighed 4 lbs. 8 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. She was in the NICU for 7 days because she was so small and couldn't keep her temperature at normal. She's home now and doing well. The time in the NICU was grueling, but the last week at home where we had to continue to maintain the NICU's 3 hour feeding and pumping scheudle was pure hell. First we'd spend 20 minutes or more trying to wake her. Then I'd nurse her then my DH would give her a bottle while I pumped. We were exhausted in a way I've never imagined.

We went to the pediatrician yesterday and Ella was up to 5 lbs 3.5 oz. She took her off the supplement for all but 1 feeding per 24 hour period and had us begin nursing on demand. Last night was a dream. Ella slept 2 4 hour periods. I was able to get 7 hours of sleep!

    More later.

  20. salapataras - It sounds like it has been exhausting since Ella has been born, but things are doing much better now. CONGRATS on the birth of your little one. I love her name.

Julie - WOW, it sounds like you put back great embryos and that is awesome that you will probably have some to freeze. GL with you beta!!

We got bumped back to 11/6 again. I can't believe our twins will be here tomorrow. I will post as soon as I can.

  21. Wow Miss Sunny, congratulations! It sounds like it's been a pretty rough couple of weeks, but hopefully things will get easier now. Congratulations, it must be so wonderful to have her home. Please continue with the updates!

WDTTG, how exciting! It's amazing that tomorrow is the big day! I can't wait to hear how beautiful they are!

As for me, I'm just waiting for beta on Monday. It turns out that none of my myriad remaining embryos got to the blastocyst phase, so there were none to freeze. That's a bummer, but at least I have a good shot this time and a good response that may bode well for siblings in the future (if I don't get too old in the meantime).

  22. WDTTG, hope everything is going wonderfully today.

Julie, I can't believe your beta is Monday. I missed almost your whole 2ww! Can't wait to hear your results. Baby Ella is going to send you some good baby thoughts and mommy, too!

We\'re settling into our new routine, but still exhausted. I feel as if I'm getting adequate sleep now, but we had gotten to the point of almost not being able to function. It takes a while to bounce back from that. The baby is great. She lost a little weight when we took her off the formula, but the pediatrician wasn't too concerned. We go back on Monday to weigh again.

  23. WDTTG, I have been thinking of you -- hope you are loving holding your babies now and that they are having a smooth time of things. Can't wait to hear!

Miss Sunny, glad to hear things are getting better and that little Ella is blossoming. I'm sure she'll plump right up.

I am feeling pessimistic. I don't know why, just a feeling. I decided to POAS today, and it was negative. Still 2 days until beta so maybe it's too early. But I don't have any symptoms -- no sore bbs, no nausea. I did break out with about a billion tiny pimples on my chest area yesterday, could that be a symptom? Or is it just my adolescence coming back to haunt me? I'll POAS again tomorrow and Monday, then beta Monday. If it's negative I just don't know what to do. Things couldn't have gone any better this time around, and yet there were no embryos to freeze. They just stop developing. I wonder if the ones they transferred are the same. Just stopping. I think if this doesn't work that I may go to DE next. Probably should have done that long ago. I have already started the process at my local clinic, so I would just need to give them a deposit ($2k) to start the ball rolling. They say it takes 3-6 months to select a donor. Or maybe I should try once more at Cornell -- with such a good initial response maybe it's worth one more try. I'm already thinking my beta will be negative. I just want to be prepared if it is. Who knows. I'll POAS again tomorrow.

  24. Everything went as well as it could yesterday. James Thomas and Emma Elizabeth were born at 12:24 and 12:26. He weighed 5lb5oz and was 18 1/4 inches. She is 4lb3oz and 17 3/4in. Emma went straight to the NICU because of her weight and body temp. I have been able to see her a couple times. James has been hanging out with us in my room and has been an angel.

I am slowly recovering from my c-section. Yesterday had its ups and downs with all the medication so I don't remember much after the birth. I am in a fair amount of pain today but we are trying to keep it under control.

    Julie -- GL on Monday!!

salapataras - GL at the pedi on Monday.

  25. WDTTG, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! How wonderful to have your LO's here finally! I'm feeling your pain with your Emma Elizabeth in the NICU. So glad that James Thomas is robust and able to hang out with you and DH. How do his kidneys look? Are they telling you anything about Emma? We found that it mostly just takes time. Saying some prayers for all 4 of you.
