chemical pregnancy question

  1. Hi -
After 2 weeks of beta hell from my last IVF, I learned that this is definitely a chemical pregnancy and stopped my meds (crinone and progesterone/estrogen suppositories) on Monday. I had a miscarriage last year around 8 or 9 weeks and it was definitely a bit intense.

I'm now 6 weeks "pregnant" and just started spotting (while at work). I don't know what to expect. As in, will it be really intense, so maybe I should go home? Or should I just wait? I have an appointment this afternoon and want to let my boss know if she might need to stand in for me.

Any info about what to expect would be great.
    Thanks.

  2. Hope- I started spotting this morning too. I went to the OB/Dr for an U/S No Heartbeat. I am suppose to have a D/C in the morning. This has to be the hardest thing for a person.

I hope and pray everything will be okay for you and your baby...

  3. I am so sorry for your losses.

Each miscarriage is different, I have had a number of chemical pregnancies and later miscarriages where the heartbeat stopped. I chose not to have surgery for some of them but rather chose to let them pass naturally but I continued going to work as I am very private about our struggles so did not want to explain why I would stay off work.

The chemical pregnancy bleeds were heavier than a normal period but I wore 2 maternity towels at a time and took painkillers as well as muscle relaxants and I was fine. But everyone is different so you need to monitor how you feel and decide from there. I'm sorry.

  4. I had a chemical pregnancy in December and I bleed really heavy for about 4 days or so. Much heavier than my normal period. I also had alot of back pain with my chemical. Just had a miscarriage at 10 weeks and it was nothing like my chemical. So, I think it can vary greatly. I am so sorry to everyone who has to go through this hell. It just isn't fair........
