Oh Candy, you poor thing! My morning sickness was terrible, but I never had to be hospitalized. With twins, everything is just twice as hard. I am so sorry to hear that!
I am still sick every AM but the afternoons are much better. Have they given you Zofran? It really helps me.
I haven't posted in a while. I have had a rough couple of weeks. Two weeks ago, I went in for my routine (bi monthly) growth scan and it showed that baby b (always my smaller baby) was not growing at the rate that they wanted. He dropped down to the 17th percentile (from 32nd percentile) and they prepped me for an early delivery and an sIUGR diagnosis (when the twins do not share the placenta evenly and one does not get enough nutrients). They told me that if he didn't grow by 24 weeks, I would be admitted to the hospital in given steroid shots and kept there until delivery (which could be as early as 24-25 weeks). They put me on modified bedrest at home and told me to drink 3 high protein ensures per day (Candy, once you can keep them down, you should do this). I did that for the past 2 weeks and was so incredibly worried about the babies. I kept fearing they would induce me at 24 weeks and that baby B wouldn't grow.
But shockingly, my little fighter baby b jumped to the 28th percentile today! His brother is in the whopping 50th percentile and doing amazing. I haven't discussed my results with my perinatologist (I have an appt. tomorrow afternoon) so I don't want to jump the gun, but I couldn't be happier about the babies' progress. I am now very confident that I'll be able to keep these guys in for a while longer (goal is 32 weeks!!). I am continuing the modified bedrest and ensures since they are working so well for me. What a great day, especially after how miserable I have been the last 2 weeks.
