  1. i got my period at 12 wks, and my supply dropped, from what i could tell because dd was super fussy after feedings. i got it again this month(she will be 4 mos 6/19) and the same thing happened with her being fussy. i have resorted to giving her 3 oz of formula after every couple of feedings. any suggestions?

    thx

  2. At my bfing support group the LC recommended Calcium and magnesium to help when menstruating. I googled it and here is what I found
"An effective treatment for these symptoms associated with the return of periods is to add a calcium/magnesium supplement to the diet upon ovulation and continue it through the second or third day of a period. The supplement should be 1500 calcium/750 magnesium but can be as low as 500 calcium/250 magnesium (the higher the dosage the more effective and quicker the results). It should be a combination pill. This much calcium should never be taken alone."
    It is from this article:

My DS was older (7.5 mo) when my AF returned so I didn't have to deal with supply issues. And with DD I still haven't gotten it back (almost 18 mo).

  3. In addition, on those days try upping your water intake and maybe, if you have a pump, pump in between feedings (to up your supply) then after you have finished stop pumping? I am talking out of my head now because AF is nowhere in sight.

  4. I'm so glad that this was posted. I was just recently having some issues with DS not sleeping through the night anymore. Wanting to nurse constantly. Struggling to get as much when I pump. I wasn't sure why my supply seemed to be dropping. Then, yesterday, I get a visit from AF. I was kinda shocked since I am still full time nursing my 10 month old DS. (Not by choice. We are having some eating issues and spoon aversion. But we are working on it and making small steps!) Thank you for posting and answering! I feel so much better now. Everything seems to make way more sense now.
